National was a brand used by Panasonic in the past. National brand is pretty popular in asian countries. Even today lot of people in India use National rice cookers widely. National brand is never popular in USA. In USA it was always Panasonic brand.

Other than the Panasonic one stated above , there are many asian cookers that are available for cheap prices. Infact I have seen some cookers as low as 14$. But you have to check the reviews/ratings before you decide to buy one.
